I
Promise
Duncan
James
Wait
until this week is done
Then, I will have the time
To spend with you, my Son
Wait
until this day is through
Then, we'll sit
And have a drink or two
Wait
until tomorrow comes
Then,
Son?

Duncan
James was born in 1970 in Chicago, Illinois. His family moved
out of Chicago in the fall of 1979 to an ancestral farm on Brush
Creek near Linden, Tennessee. The family moved once again in the
summer of 1984 to Irving, Texas, where he attended high school
and discovered his love for writing.
After high school, Duncan joined the U.S. Air Force in 1989 as
an aircraft mechanic. His duty assignments included England, California,
and Texas. He was medically separated from the Air Force in 2005
due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. After his
discharge, he moved to Spring Hill, Tennessee, with his wife and
two children.
Duncans first love was poetry but he has since spread his
artistic wings and is now an aspiring novelist currently nurturing
his third work set in Middle Tennessee.
